This low-tech photo-based process is fast, cheap and easily accessible for a wide range skills and ability levels. Any imagery that you can print out of a Xerox machine or Lazer printer can be inked up and printed. Through a process of treating a Xerox with Gum Arabic, inking up with a brayer and oil-based printmaking ink, artists then print thorough the printing press onto dampened paper (or fabric). The print can be left as-is or artists can choose to draw/paint/print/sew onto or incorporate with other media, etc.
About the Instructor: Jennifer Ghormley is an independent artist who employs a variety of techniques in the translation of ideas into works of art. She received a MFA in 2006 from UNL and BFA in 2002 from MSCD. She exhibits coast-to-coast through juried shows, teaches for Art Students League, K-12 schools programs, and national art organizations. Jennifer is a current resident artist at RedLine Denver, and travels periodically for visiting artist lectures and artist residencies. www.Jenniferghormley.com
